The New York Aikikai is located between 6th and 7th avenues, in Manhattan’s Chelsea area, with convenient access to major subway lines.
Just check out the schedule and come a few minutes early to check in and get dressed. If you are affiliated with another dojo, the mat fee allows you to take as many classes as you would like in a single day or week. Please bring your kyu or yudansha book with you. Dan grade holders must be registered with Aikikai (Hombu Dojo) in order to wear a black belt and hakama.
You will also need to fill out a waiver, which can be found at the front desk.
Mat fees
Mat fees apply to visitors from other dojos or to those who have previous aikido training. Visitors must wear a white gi in order to train.
